The Rotary Club of Burntwood and District President - Mr. Clive Cain CBE

The great strength of Burntwood Rotary Club has always been the tremendous fellowship and mutual support between all Club members, which has meant that the whole Club works enthusiastically together on whatever task it takes on. This has always ensured that the Club 'boxes well above it's weight' in comparison with much bigger Clubs in how much it raises for charitable causes.

Building on this very impressive track record, I would like to see the strength the Club gains from the enthusiasm and mutual support of it's members boosted even further through a series of fellowship events, which include Club member's wives and partners, and also include visits to other local Clubs.

I also intend to continue pushing forward with the Club's Associate Membership initiative, first launched two years ago, and which has since shown itself to be a highly effective means of attracting new blood into the Club. The intention being to recruit at least another six Associate Members into the Club over the next twelve months, and to persuade at least two of the Associate Members to become full Rotarians.

In addition to the wide range of local, national and international charitable causes the Club will be working hard to support during the coming year, each President decides on a particular charity they wish to support. I have chosen the NSPCC, an excellent organisation that works tirelessly to eradicate cruelty to children.
